Inkwell & Cole

Ghostwriting for founders & experts

The book is already in your head. This just gets it onto the page.

We ghostwrite and structure nonfiction business books for founders and experts who have a book in them but no time to write it.

01

The pattern we see

You’ve given the same talk a hundred times.

You’ve told the same client story a hundred times too. The book is there. It just never makes it past the blank page.

Most business books don’t fail from lack of ideas. They fail from lack of structure and time.

What we do

Three ways we get your book written.

Whether you need a full ghostwriter or a structural editor, here’s where we typically start.

Full Ghostwriting

We interview you, draft every chapter, and revise until the manuscript sounds like you on your best day.

Book Structure & Outline

We take your scattered ideas and build the chapter-by-chapter architecture before a word of the draft gets written.

Manuscript Editing

For authors with a rough draft already, we tighten the narrative arc and sharpen the prose for a publishing-ready version.

Questions

The questions authors ask first.

Straight answers before you book anything.

Common questions

Voice, credit and timing, in plain terms

Will it sound like me?

That is the whole job. We draft, you mark it up, we revise. Two full passes are standard, and a third if the voice is not right yet.

Whose name goes on the book?

Yours. We do not take a byline, we do not take royalties, and we do not talk about whose book we wrote.

How long does it take?

Four to six months for a full book. Structure takes four to six weeks; editing an existing draft, six to ten.

Do you write fiction?

No. We only take nonfiction: business, memoir-adjacent and expertise-led books. If you have a novel, we will say so quickly.

Our process

From interview to finished manuscript.

Discovery

We read what you have already said in public and find the through-line.

Architecture

The chapter plan is signed off before a word of the draft exists.

Interviews

Eight to twelve recorded sessions, one per chapter area.

Draft & revision

We draft, you mark it up, we revise until it sounds like you.

About us

Two former editors who kept meeting brilliant speakers stuck at a blank page.

Inkwell & Cole was started by two former editors who spent years ghostwriting for executives who were brilliant in a room and paralysed in front of a blank page.

The studio stays deliberately small, so the people you meet on the first call are the people who write the book.

In their words

  • Demo review

“I’d been talking about writing this book for six years. Inkwell & Cole had a finished manuscript out of me in four months, and it still sounds like me.”
